The Foundation was established in 1985 to raise contributed income from public and private community sources, and to grant the funds directly to the programs and projects that support Nyack Hospital’s mission.  Members of the Foundation staff, the Hospital’s Senior Management team and a Foundation Board of invested and involved community members all work in concert to solicit funds and steward your donations responsibly.  We're very proud of the work we’ve accomplished towards that end.

For over 125 years, Nyack Hospital has delivered outstanding care, and we have done so within the context of a fiscally demanding and increasingly complex healthcare industry.  In this challenging environment, philanthropy often becomes the bridge between what the Hospital needs to stay innovative and the resources we have to realize our ambitions.  Each year the Foundation undertakes a variety of initiatives to support the Hospital and promote its activities.  We are a resource to anyone seeking in-depth information about the Hospital and its good works in the community, and we’re available to assist you if you are considering including the Hospital in your estate plans.

We take the stewardship of your donations very seriously, and we believe it is our responsibility to earn your trust every day.  Our leadership has adopted A Donor Bill of Rights, developed by a number of leading charity service associations including the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy and the United Way. 

Where do your dollars go?  Gifts support new initiatives, important modernization projects and state-of-the-art equipment.  Over the last few years, Foundation dollars have supported:

• Free breast cancer screenings for underserved populations
• A new MRI scanner and CT scanner for the hospital
• Renovation of the Hospital’s cafeteria
• The renovation of the Pediatrics Unit
• Medical staff and nursing development, training and education
• Bedside Ultrasound for the Emergency Department
• Modernization of the Maternity Center
• New isolettes and phototherapy lights for the Intensive Care Nursery

In 2013, we are completing fundraising for the million expansion of our award-winning Emergency Department.  We are counting on the community for its support so that we can break ground as soon as possible.  Learn more about this ambitious effort by clicking here.
