Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Montefiore Nyack Hospital is committed to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) through focused development of a culture that respects and values uniqueness of every staff and patient. We strive to provide an environment that feels safe and to welcoming to all, regardless of differences in culture, language, gender identification, sexual orientation, ethnicity, race, disability, religion, socio economic background, or education level.
 
The goal of the DEI committee is to foster a workplace environment where staff and patients feel a sense of belonging and appreciation. We are committed to addressing and eliminating discrimination in all forms, providing everyone with the care needed to be in their best physical and emotional health, understanding that excellent care begins with acknowledging every staff, patient, and community as they want to be seen and that differences combined are the forces that drive innovation and collaboration.

The DEI committee is also focused on eliminating disparities through creating partnerships, collaborations, and relationships with other community organizations to provide the resources required to address Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) and reduce health disparities that result in improved health outcomes over the long term.
